Bauhaus: Utopia in Crisis

The exhibition Bauhaus: Utopia in Crisis explored how contemporary practitioners have been drawn to the social, utopian and transgressive aspects of Bauhaus history. The exhibition was part of the University of the Arts London's ourhaus festival, which coincided with Bauhaus 100, the international celebration of the famous Bauhaus design school’s centenary.

an exhibition of paintings and other works by david troostwyk

This exhibition introduces the work of David Troostwyk (1929-2009) to a new audience, underlining its originality and vitality. David Troostwyk’s work with text, objects and painting displays a reduced elegance and focus on the way art can communicate ideas. Although pared-back, his work can be seen as moral.

AGAINST LANDSCAPE

Against Landscape brings together the work of fifteen artists and Grizedale Arts, a rural arts organisation in the Lake District. The artworks all position themselves against landscape— sometimes aligned to the landscape tradition or supported by it—but at other times seemingly running counter or against it.

The Indiscipline of Painting
The Indiscipline of Painting was a major international exhibition that examined how the position of abstract painting, from the 1960s to 2012, could remain critical and urgent for artists through a renegotiation with past painting and ideas in past abstract painting. It proposed this could be done within the boundaries of painting itself. The exhibition brought together work by 49 international artists.

Perfidy
Perfidy began as an intervention to mark the 50th anniversary of Le Corbusier's famous monastery, La Tourette. Artworks which were selected that engaged with ideas of modernism and faith, and these were spread throughout what is still a working and living religious community. The exhibition was then reconfigured with photographs of the monastery, taken by one of the monks, for Kettle's Yard in Cambridge.
